Justin’s story

Justin Ward is a chef and baker originally from Nacogdoches, Texas, who has been living in Europe since 2004.

After graduating with a degree in music from a seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, he moved first to Romania, studying the Romanian language at the Universitate de Bucuresti, and then on to France where he studied cuisine at the prestigious Parisian culinary school, L’Ecole Ferrandi, known as the “Harvard of Culinary Arts”.

After graduating and working as a chef at several Parisian restaurants including Michelin starred restaurant Guy Savoy, Justin began teaching French cuisine at the school La Cuisine Paris, located on the Right Bank, overlooking the Ile de la Cité and its famous landmark, the Nôtre Dame de Paris.

In 2017, he returned to school once again to study boulangerie, and became a licensed baker, apprenticing at the bakery of the world famous restaurant La Tour d’Argent (which inspired the children’s film Ratatouille) and also in one of the most respected and beautiful bakeries of Paris, Au Petit Versailles du Marais.

Each year Justin travels several times to the US, teaching cooking classes, consulting for restaurants and bakeries, and providing personal chef experiences, while also developing the DuBon brand of quality kitchenware and fine ingredients.
