Angelina

It was in 1903 that the Austrian pastry chef Anton Rumpelmayer founded Angelina in honor of his daughter-in-law. For over a century, Angelina Paris has been known as a gourmet destination, renowned for its over-the-top versaille-esque decor and traditional hot chocolate. The tea room became a favorite haunt of Parisian high society near the Louvre (Coco Chanel, Marcel Proust, and others). The decor, designed by the celebrated Belle Époque architect Edouard-Jean Niermans, immerses visitors in a timeless experience. Angelina is by far the most famous place to enjoy breakfast or brunch in Paris!

Marches de Puces (flea markets)

Every weekend there are flea markets that set up shop in streets across Paris, as well as a few that are in the same place, every weekend, all year long (Marche de Puces Saint Ouen, for example).

Personally, I prefer the ones that are organized by local associations and neighborhoods, called “vide-greniers”, which translate to “Empty Attics”, so more similar to our garage sales. In these markets, you’ll also find quite a few professional antique dealers.

These markets are only announced a few weeks ahead of time, so we will just have to see the options a bit closer to the time of the trip. However, there are sure to be plenty of flea markets on this particular Sunday!

Seine dinner cruise

Taking a cruise on the Seine…it’s what dreams are made of.

Many of the most emblematic and beautiful monuments and buildings of Paris are located along the Seine, so a cruise is a wonderful way to explore the city, without wearing out the soles of the shoes on your feet!
